On Sunday mornings, we provide a Children’s Programme session and crèche for the children of those attending the main service. The children stay in the chapel with their parents/carers for the first 15 minutes of the service. During this time, a hymn will be sung and a story will be read to the children and congregation.
The children spend from 11.15am to 12 noon in the chapel hall with the qualified Children’s Programme co-ordinator or crèche co-ordinator. There is a rota of volunteers from the Children’s Programme Team and members of the congregation who assist with the Over 5s group.
The children age 5+ are following the Tapestry of Life curriculum from the Unitarian Universalist Association. Each week, a theme linked to Unitarian principles is explored using discussion, art and craft, singing and music, or drama.
In the crèche, children under the age of 5 are looked after in a room adjacent to the hall. They have a range of toys to play with. Babies under the age of 2 years must be accompanied by an adult.
At 12noon, the children join the adults in the Chapel and can enjoy a drink and snack.
