Sunday 29 November (11.00pm) – ‘Another Advent’

Guest Preacher Rev Martin Whitell (District Minister)

As the change of the seasons continues and we enter the time of the shortest days and the longest nights many people of faith celebrate the power of light over darkness. Unitarians are Advent people – people of fresh beginnings.

This weekend is also the time when people around the world think not only of seasons changing but of the effects and threats associated with climate change. Perhaps there is more than one new beginning for us to focus on.

Sunday 29 November (7.00pm) – ‘Ministry of Dance’

We invite you to a meditative evening of dance, ritual and reflection in celebration of this dark season. Please come and join us in support of ‘Ministry of Dance’ at our Chapel. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be offered after the service, and a collection taken to support our link with ‘Crossroad Women’s Centre‘ (www.crossroadswomen.net). We welcome and appreciate your support. Led by Rose Williams and Ingrid Tavkar

Flowers – The Flowers this Sunday are sponsored by Jay Edge and Laury (Labyrinth couple)

Message from the Management Board

Our minister, the Rev. Patrick O’Neill has now retired. We have many wonderful guest preachers to take the services over the next couple of months and hope to have a temporary minister in place to lead all services in the New Year. Meanwhile, we have elected an excellent search committee to seek a new settled minister. We hope to have someone in place in six months to a years’ time.

Cold Weather Shelter

The ‘Cold Weather Shelter’ happens on Friday nights in our Hall, commencing Friday 6th November.  A Volunteer sign up sheet is available each Sunday morning and evening in the Chapel or contact Margaret Perry to volunteer (email: margaretperry14[at]hotmail.co.uk)

Stewarding Can You Help? – An Appeal to all Members

Stewarding is a simple way to get more involved. Good stewarding makes a difference: a warm welcome from the stewards is a welcome to the Chapel. Please look at your diaries and contact Jim Burtles (email: burtles.j[at]gmail.com) with any dates in the next few months when you’d be available. If you haven’t stewarded at a service before please don’t worry as there is always an experienced worship assistant present.

Coffee Hour – Volunteers invited!

Serving tea/coffee at 12.00pm in the side aisle is an enjoyable and useful activity. Please contact Margaret Perry (email: margaretperry14[at]hotmail.co.uk) to offer 30 minutes of time to suit you.

Membership Group

The Chapel welcomes newcomers at all times.  If you are new to the chapel or have been coming along to services for a little while and would like to know more about getting involved, becoming a member, or about the chapel in general, please contact Claire Julian of our Membership Group on o2o 7435 8254 or claire.marley[at]mac.com.
