Chapel represented at the Camden Faith & Belief Awards

In May, Camden hosted its first Faith & Belief Awards to celebrate the contributions of faith communities within the borough. The ceremony was attended by the Chair of the Chapel’s Board, Alison Bybee, and Rev Kate Dean, who collected a ‘Certificate of Recognition’ on behalf of the Chapel to recognise two of our special events in the category of ‘Building Connected communities and neighbourhoods’. The Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremony, and Centring Transgender Lives service were recognised.

The category winner was Faith Forum for London’s Interfaith Iftars and around 50 different projects were showcased highlighting work on tackling poverty, welcoming refugees and inspiring children and young people. Cllr Nadia Shah, co-chair of the Camden Interfaith Network said: ‘The awards gave us the opportunity to shine a light on the organisations, projects and individuals who work tirelessly to support our local community and tackle a range of social issues. Huge congratulations to the winners and all who were nominated.’
